What is Instagram?
Instagram is a photo and video sharing platform owned by Meta (Facebook's parent company). Launched in 2010, it is now among the top 5 social media platforms in the world.
For businesses, Instagram functions as a visual marketplace — where you can showcase your products, services, and brand story in a visually compelling way. From Dehradun to Dubai, Instagram delivers remarkable impact across every market.
Reels, Stories, Posts, IGTV, Carousels — each format is designed to target a different audience segment.

How to Create an Instagram Account
A step-by-step guide — from setting up a personal account to switching to a business account, everything explained here.
Download the App
Download the Instagram app from the Google Play Store (Android) or Apple App Store (iOS). Alternatively, open instagram.com directly in your browser.
Always use the official app — third-party apps risk getting your account banned.
Tap "Create new account." You can sign up using your email or phone number. For businesses, using an email is recommended — it looks more professional.
Use a business email like [email protected] — avoid personal email addresses.
Create a Strong Password
Your password should be 8+ characters long. Combine uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters (e.g. @, #, !). Never use your date of birth or name.
Dehradun@2025! — strong, memorable, and secure.
Choose a Username
Your username is your @handle. Use your brand or business name. Keep it short, easy to pronounce, and unique. Avoid underscores wherever possible.
@serptriumph — clean, brand-consistent, and easy to tag.
Switch to a Business Account
Go to Settings → Account → "Switch to Professional Account" → Select Business. This gives you access to analytics, a contact button, and the ability to run ads.
Creator accounts are for individual content creators — for businesses, a Business Account is always the best choice.
Optimise Your Profile
Add a profile photo (your brand logo), write a bio (what you do in 150 characters + location + emoji), add your website link, and set your business category. This is your first impression.

10 Golden Rules for Instagram Growth
Create Reels Daily
The Instagram algorithm gives Reels the highest priority. Posting even one Reel per day — even just 15 seconds — can multiply your reach by 10x. Use trending audio to boost visibility.
Hook Them in the First 3 Seconds
Capture the viewer's attention within the first 3 seconds — otherwise they'll scroll past. Use bold text, a surprising fact, or a compelling question as your hook.
Use Hashtags Strategically
Avoid using 30 hashtags — 5–10 targeted hashtags perform better. Use a mix of niche hashtags (#DehradunBusiness) and broad hashtags (#DigitalMarketing).
Engage Through Stories
Polls, slider reactions, and Q&A stickers all signal to Instagram that your account is active. Post at least 3–5 stories every day to maintain visibility.
Reply to Every Comment
Respond to every comment — especially within the first hour. This boosts engagement and signals the algorithm to show your post to a wider audience.
Maintain a Consistent Aesthetic
Your profile should look like a curated gallery — consistent colours, fonts, and visual vibe. Use Canva or Lightroom presets for a uniform, polished look.
Collaborate with Others
Partner with niche influencers or complementary businesses using the Collab Post feature. Both audiences see the post, effectively doubling your reach in a single upload.
Track Your Analytics
Check your Instagram Insights every Sunday — what worked, what didn't. Identify your best-performing content type and double down on it.
Use Location Tags
Running a business in Dehradun? Add a Dehradun location tag to every post. Your local audience will find you much more easily — especially through Instagram search.
Include a CTA in Every Post
Every caption should have a clear Call-to-Action — "Save this post", "Tag a friend", "Click the link in bio". A post without a CTA is an incomplete post.
